Carbon Dragon

It is the prehistory: the period in which the people could not write. Yet. Or at least: not that we know of. Maybe they wrote complete books full of fantastic stories no one will ever hear, because they're long gone. The story for this game is about one of the first farmers in the world: Harald. He wants to settle on a piece of land that's still full of trees and tribes, to let grow his crop.

How to get rid of the trees? Hire a dragon to burn it. How to get rid of the tribes: Promise them the best carbon for a last meal. Barbecue we'd say. Today the tribes are all set to celebrate their leave (in return for the carbon), and the dragon is hired: It's you.

Your task is to:

1) Burn trees, not tribes.

  • Burn a tree by clicking a tree, and it will set flame to the trees next to it (and so on), enlarging scale of the fire.

2) Burn trees in a safe way, dig channels full of water to enclose a piece of forest.

  • You can only dig downhill, to ensure water is flowing through it.
  • Click on a starting point (water) and select an endpoint to dig.

3) Donate carbon that's yielded to a tribe so they can celebrate.

  • Click a tribe to see their carbon demand.
  • Once a tribe celebrates and are having their meal: more of the land will be available, as well as more tribes to donate carbon to.

4) Once all tribes are discovered and they're all served: Your task is done, and you win the game.

  • Points are rewarded for several events, can you beat your high score?
  • If you accidentally burn a tribe or things get out of control and you set fire to the entire country, you're game is over.

Controls:

Mouse + clicks on:

1) 'Water' - (twice) to dig a channel of water (only downhill, not horizontal)

2) 'Tree'  - to start a fire

3) 'Tribe' - to see the demand of / to donate carbon / expand playing area

How the game fits to the theme:

1) Fire has the habit of scaling up, unless you take control over it

2) The playing area is scaling up during the game
